The Ultimate Beginners was first held in 2015 to give novices a first taste of the stage against other novices.
Last year's contest attracted 133 entries and Sunday’s showdown at The Woodville in Kent looks likely to surpass that, with competitors still eligible to enter in the next few days and at registration on Sunday.
For some it will be a one-off challenge to get in the shape of their lives; for others it will be the start of an adventure that could see them go on to national and international honours.
Remember, the UKBFF is affiliated to the IFBB, which is the world's largest bodybuilding and fitness federation working in partnership with governments and national Olympic committees to grow the sport.
It is the only route to the Arnold Classic Europe, the Arnold Classic Africa, numerous Diamond Cups and the IFBB World Championships and the IFBB European Championships, as well as the $300,000 IFBB World Ranking for amateurs and the IFBB Elite Pro league that will award about $1m of prize money this year.
This month's Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru, which will attract a TV audience of 500m, includes bodybuilding for the first time, run under the auspices of the IFBB.
Last year's Ultimate Beginners competitors included Kishan Patel, who went on to become British champion in rookie men's physique and is now a leading competitor in the open class.
Spectator tickets cost £20 and can be bought on the door. Under-10s can attend for FREE.
