BRITS STRIKE SILVER IN SPAIN

Two UK athletes are celebrating silver medals at the IFBB European Championships in Spain.

 Isaac Francis claimed silver in his men's physique open class.

Isaac Francis, 21, finished second of 22 in the men's physique up to 173 cm class – a stunning result for a junior competing in his first international event.

Ricky Beckford also struck silver in the masters men's physique aged 45-49 class to record his best international result so far. He finished just two points behind the winner.

Several other members of the UK also shone.

Dave Walters placed sixth in masters men's physique aged 40-44; Adbulrahman Aloumi was 10th in men's physique up to 179 cm and Magdalena Szymanska finished 11th in masters women's bodyfitness aged 40-44.

About 1,000 athletes from more than 40 countries are taking part in the European Championships.

It's a busy weekend for British competitors, with tomorrow also seeing the UKBFF North-West Championships in Warrington. Good luck to all taking part!
