Lincolnshire gym owner Nick Swann was one of 14 athletes from 12 countries in the over 55 bodybuilding age category at the IFBB World Masters Championships on Sunday.

Nick finished second, beating top names such as German Thomas Scheu and Italian Roberto Massagli to add to the gold medal he won at the Arnold Classic Europe in September.

“It was an incredible experience, on a totally different level,” says Nick. “The standard of the athletes was off the scale, truly world class.”

Fellow UK competitors Dave Walters and Laura Colledge, both made the top 10 in their categories in Spain.

Dave was seventh in men's physique and Laura was 10th in bikini fitness. Well done to all three.

All three athletes had the cost of their flights and hotel paid for by the UKBFF.

The UK Nationals, which kicks off the 2019 season on March 31, will offer similar opportunities next year.

Nick, Dave and Laura were the last three UK athletes to compete this year.

However, two remaining events on the IFBB 2018 calendar will take place this weekend: the African Championships in Algeria and the Santiago Diamond Cup in Chile this weekend.
